Wooden purse from plywood inspired by the Ancient and Neoclassic Greek Architecture. Each handbag consists of two semicircular wooden surfaces and an internal pouch. The main compartment, made of black faux leather, zips on the top. The exterior wooden surfaces are of high quality plywood and covered with transparent protective varnish. These surfaces are tied to the inner pouch with a cord. This way the customer is given the option to change the pouch or remove it in order to wash it. In english, the term ″antefix″ (from Latin antefigere) is used to describe the vertical block which terminates the covering tiles of a tiled roof. In ancient Greek Architecture the closed front surface of the ″akrokeramos″ blocked out the birds and snakes and with its weight held the rest of the tiles in their place. With the collapse of the ancient world, the ″akrokeramos″ disappears, to reappear in the Renaissance and Neoclassic Era. The akrokeramos is often decorated with plant themes such as the anthemion. The anthemion, a term derived from the word “anthos” = flower in ancient Greek, symbolizes wealth and prosperity for the Greeks.
